If there was one thing that you wish you had known about living in Dominican Republic before you arrived and started to settle in, what would it be?

1) That Santo Domingo might have been a better place to start off in for building the foundations for a business. I started in Santiago de los cabelleros.

2) I didn't have to spend so much time learning spanish before the move. It was very beneficial in many ways but not 100% neccessary before the move. I spent 3 years studying that I could have just done in 1 year and spent the rest in the country instead of traveling back and forth.

3) Had I known the wireless Internet (3G) infrastructure was so strong *not perfect by any stretch but workable* I would have focused my attention on working in different areas of the country renting furnished homes for short periods of time so that I could know more about the country during my time there.
