Here in LT, it's bad. Never seen anything like this. Some places getting flooded. Saw some videos from PP, it's much worse. Supposed to start getting better from Monday. Many people will need help after this:((

Hi lt. Yes it is bad but I've not seen loss of live. Lost homes and belongings. I'm sheltering way more then I should but never more then I can handle.
Roads, the only way to transport food and goods are quickly failing. We are down from 5 N/S roads to 2 with the main POP road is closed as we talk since one side is gone and don't know if it will open again. Only roads open... sort of... are perhaps Gasper Hernandaz ?? or all the way to your area.
Is that road open? TY.

Omg, this is terrible. Please stay safe. Higuey and the west remain unaffected, reports of some rain, but nothing like the north. We are planning the relocation next summer, but our family is keeping us up to date.

No rain in my area for last 2 days but rivers are still rising with more flooding expected as they do. No word if the Rt 5 bridge at Imbert will open with only 1 lane since a main support failed and took the other lane and water main.
They are looking for detours going toward Luperon but I'm told that the bridges to Luperon are gone.
I had this confirmed last night by the 3 police that live in one of my apts.
The old and neglected Touristica road has a section that went down several hundred feet... so no road at all though bikes can get around. It will take heavy equip. to dig out the mountain side for a new road.... and much dryer conditions.
The bridge on Rt 21 is out south of the Jamao area.
Rt. 233 from Gasper Hernandez in told is open but not in the best shape and expect a lot of traffic and delays.
I have not heard anything about the Rt 7 ? near Samana.
If all the traffic has only those two road options located in the NE area, the drive will be .... you fill in the blank.

We know people in Tubagua, on the routa turistica, will need to try to get in touch to see if they are ok. This sounds horrible. My thoughts are with you all.

The Imbert bridge is open for foot and bike passage only. 300 workers. Appears that the support did not fail but the earth underneath one end/side washed away. Don't know if this link will work but I'll post. You may have to look for the article about the bridge.
