Hello all, I'm new you your forum. I'm a 54 year old Texan who plans to visit DR later this year. I will be retiring in 2018 and I plan to live in several different locations abroad, this being one possibility. I'm hoping that something here can recommend an area for me to visit. I'd like something a little off the beaten path but not anything too alien. I've searched long and hard for various fishing charters and haven't had much luck unless I want to go to Punta Cana and pay an arm and a leg, which I don't. I'd really like to find someone who moved there because they enjoy fishing who would maybe take me a few times if I pay for their gas or something. I'd also like to meet a few nice chicas while I'm there as I am widowed. My Spanish is not great. I can communicate somewhat if people talk slowly and don't mind repeating themselves. Thanks for any help I can get.

Hi, If you are looking to go fishing you shout check out the town of Reo San Juan on the North Shore, there are several charter services out of there and also Puerto Plata area as well. A good small town to check out is Cabrera and a website WWW>DRescape.Com ,they give free tours of the North Shore and will also pick you up at the airport .from one ex texan to another ,check them out.God Bless and enjoy your visit.

Luperon is another small town with some expats on the north coast. It's about one hour drive west of Puerto Plata. There is a large bay there.

1--the easiest thing in the world is meeting a Dominicana. The hardest thing in the world is trusting that you met one you want to be with. If you want to fish then go to cap Cana. If you want cheap, then you will pay for more than gas. If you want a person who knows the ropes and how to find the chicas then call Peter +1 (849) 359-0058. Caribewolf48@yahoo.com

Cap cana is the best fishing according to a captain i met. However there is game fishing everywhere. Just not marlin fishing. You can pull a lot of parrotfish off the reefs off puerto plata especially as you go farther east toward nagua. Luperon is a sailboat harbor. The north of DR is populated mostly by Germans and now some Canadians. The resorts are Americannand Canadian. If you want to meet chicas you will be wildly successful bur only outside the resorts. Peter will give you the right lines for bait. Usually being a gringo is enough

Cap Cana seems to be the marina for the Punta Cana area. Trying to stay away from the overpriced tourist areas. Thanks for the help though.
