Hello, brand new to this site. My husband & I are coming from the Seattle area to Las Terrenes at the end of April under the guise of f doing some "research" for future expat living & business/work startup investigation. Would love to meet up with an expat who has already navigated these waters and pick your brain! We'll even pay for lunch & drinks! Anyone interested, let us know. Thank you kindly!!

Hello and Welcome, my wife and I are new to site also, sounds like we are looking for the same thing. We are coming from BC and will be in same research mode as yourself at the beginning of May. I have posted here with not many responses, my wife got on a different expat forum and had better luck, more responses. Sure you are tired of the Seattle rain as we are the BC snow living on a ski hill. Good luck, would share info if I had some, I'll find the name of that other forum, think you'll have better luck there, Cheers

Hi, I moved to DR in 2013 I would be happy to share whatever info I can. I live on the south side of the island, but obviously the rules are the same.

It's always better to ask questions, there free and can save alot of confusion. Same to you, contact me if you want thru this site and establish IM directions or plain email. I'm retired here and would be glad to help!

Hi, We own a small hotel here in Las Terrenas. If you'd like to ask some questions about running a business here, I can try to help out. Also, stop by One Love bar, the owners (from west coast Canada) are very approachable, and can probably also provide some input.
