This family needs a break!

We are a family of 5 (3 kids ages 10,7&5). We are wanting to take a break from the rat race and get back to what's really important. While at the same time showing our children how to be flexible (even when it's scary!) and how other cultures live. Problem is we don't even know where to start!
If you've thrown it all to the stars and moved (with kids!) I'd love to hear your stories and expert advice!
Thank you!!

VERY DIFFICULT to live here. education is sky high if you want 'quality'. dom. standards are extremely poor. been here over 10 years, 2 kids & will probably be heading back to the states end of school year for educational reasons! unless you are independently wealthy or have a successful business that can be run from here, it is economically difficult! LOTS OF SCAMS, CON ARTISTS & NOOOO LAW HERE! poverty is pervasive. i've been terribly disheartened with my experience here. but others may have different opinions.

Education will be an issue. Private, religious and international schools are an option, but expensive. We are planning our move with 4 kids 10-18. We plan on online home schooling. Poverty is pervasive. If that is an issue, pitch in and help. Scammers are found everywhere, just don't be gullible.
Housing is cheap, entertainment is cheap. Beaches are gorgeous, mountains and forests, equally so. Politics are, mmm, Nothing is perfect. I am done with the US and Captain Cheeto at the helm.
