I'm a young American seeking to live with my wife in Haiti.

So our paperwork for a visa for her is going through humongous complications. I am pouring myself into this visa process, all the while neglecting My wife. To make matters more difficult she is now pregnant with my unborn child . She is fighting the good fight to stay positive but we are both tired of being separate. She asks me constantly to see if there is some kind of way i could live with her in Haiti, just until the paper is approved. I like her idea, but,i can barely hold aconversation in creole,I don't know the lay of the country to well, and I have a lot to lose trying to fit in while i learn. So what I want to ask, is do anyone know of an opportunity or two in Haiti for employment? Emphasis on the fact that I am an American born from Louisiana (the creole is different) so i will be complimented by working for any American corporation in Haiti. I don't want my Marriage to suffer because of the incompetency of our immigration system. Thanks in advance.

Just bring your wife and yourself to Haiti as tourists and apply from inside Haiti for a residence visa.

Bring enough money (parents , siblings and close friends LOANS) to survive for at least 3 months without the need to work.

Avoid Port au Prince city and Petionville and look for work as an ENGLISH teacher for local high schools and language centres.

Go on www.amazon.com to purchase Haitian creole learning books and cds. Pimsleur method is among the top ones for speaking and understanding.

Good luck !
