We just moved from the US to Martinique. I don't know any good resources but feel free to contact me.
Since I am (also) EU citizen, I know that immigration from Martinique should be relatively trouble-free as long as you don't work in Martinique.

Interesting you say you can't work in Martinique. I thought as the French Caribbean is an extension of France then as an EU member you can work there as you would if you were moving from the UK to France or any other country. What organisation did you first consult when contemplating moving to Martinique? Thanks

Hello! I received your message regarding moving from France to a creole cottage by the beach! :) how exciting! Have you contacted a realtor yet? I can put you in touch with great realtors in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, or Aruba. Primarily though - I would like to extend you the offer to be featured on HOUSE HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL - and document your international house hunting experience! It's an excellent show on HGTV - viewed nationwide in the states and has been on the air for 8 years. We are focusing on the international market at the moment and would like to feature international buyers! please contact me for more information!

We won't be doing anything about buying a property or land in the Caribbean for about 5 years but we are starting to explore possibilities now.

Hello,

My wife and I are looking at moving to F.W.I from the US. Have you successfully made your move? If so, is there any information you can offer?

Thanks!

Bonjour a tous et a toutes,

I am an American undergrad student, and I am about to move to Schoelcher, Martinique for a semester abroad. I am not looking for any specific information regarding my move. In general, I am just attempting to see if any Americans are currently living in Martinique, what are some of the 'must experience' sites or traditions of the island, or any other information. I've done my own research on the area, but some first-hand knowledge would be nice. Thanks!

We are looking into the possibility of moving from the U.S. to Martinique for one year. Does anyone have any input as to whether we can do this since we are american citizens? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Nicole

Thanks!

Hi Nicole,

Did you make your move to Martinique? I am in the UK and trying to do the same. My partner has secured a job for 1 year. I have an English teaching certificate. Do you know of any schools or contacts you could pass my way?

Much appreciated.
