you need to ask the canadian consulate in algeria and also check the web site about getting maried and bringing spouse.
my experience is over UK.

I understand what you are going through. I am in the US and my fiancee is in Algeria and it is almost impossible to get him here unless you are a millionaire. I can not understand why people have to hate other races and cultures instead of getting along and having peace. I want to marry this man and spend the rest of my life with him but I do not know how we are going to do it. I also am looking for information from anyone who has married someone from Algeria and moved there or brought them to the US. Thanks in advance.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO EVEN GET MY MAN HERE. TO CANADA. I AM RETIRED, HE IS A YOUNGER MAN. WE LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH. HAVE U TRIED SPONSORING HIM? I DO NOT KNOW WHICH WAY TO TURN , EITHER. THIS MAY BE MY LAST CHANCE AT HAPPINESS & COMPLETE LOVE !

heres something i learned that was confusing it, apparently its faster if you marry in canada and then they go back to algeria and then you apply for spousal visa then if you marry and you apply from with in canada...hoe screwed up is that ...and i do agree if you love someone it should matter for their race,RELIGION,or country or culture...AND the goverment shouldn`t worry about these people they should just monitor the one who suddenly divorce after they get their pr cards and deport their a$$es..

it will take many things ..if you have been married you will need copy of your divorce and your birth certificate. all translated into arabic. maybe 25 days. My new husband and I just decided to go to tunsia to marry and were married in 2 days . have the same divorce papers and birth certificate and show he has never been married and you can have your blood test in algeria but have to go to a doctor in tunsia and he will write a document for you also. then you have to go to both your embassies there and get permission to marry , then you go to the notary after u have ur documents translated which is about 150.00 and your permission to marry and he marries you . If you are moving to algeria , maybe you can tell me how you did that . I am having problems finding out how to move back there with him . I am in the usa . thank you and good luck ..you may be married by now . PJB

you can go to tunisia and marry in 3 days ..have your birth certificates and divorce papers if you have been married before or papers showing you are free to marry . blood test and go to a dr there and he will write ok on the blood test u have or do it in tunsia . go to each of your embassy;s get permission to marry which takes 5 minutes. go to the notary and he will marry you . my new husband and I just did this in may . very easy and its better to marry there if you want to do it fast . good luck

I hope you girls are doing alright there. My then fiance, who is my hubby now, travelled from France to Singapore- got our marriage registered and formalities all done here(yea he got his single status declaration translated into english during the solemnization). He is now staying in my sunny island with a valid pass of 1 year. we are planning to head to Algeria in 2 months and I need a visa. As there is no Algerian embassy here, we have contacted one in Indonesia and they are happy to do the paperwork for us and have our marriage registered. So by time for us to head to Algeria, things will be done.

Well its another year and we did marry in Tunisia, much easier, but now Im in Canada and hes still in Algeria and I was approved to sponsor him but now just waiting for his papers to be approved...its been a long nightmare , but Im'm still hanging in there!!

Hi,

I hope all is well....
We plan on marrying in Tunisia, because it is faster, however, I read somewhere that, in Tunisia, they require me to bring a newer birth certificate, not older than 21 days...?

ghugg
  10/12/2012 16:50 EST

they like that you have a birth certificate that has both your parents name on thenm , and maybe now with the new birth certificates now , maybe they would like the new ones, we did have a few problems because when i went to marry I had only my pocket size and it didn't state my parents name ...we almost couldn't marry because of this..
good luck and congrats

ghugg
  10/12/2012 16:52 EST

oh and the birth certificate I had was about 25 years old..lol, just get your fiance to call and check what they will accept

Tunis, Tunisia would the best region to get married?

ghugg

thats where my husband and I married and its close to the airport, but if you want a more budget friendly place to stay while in tunisia , hamammet is great and its about 40 mins from the airport. My last visit we stayed for a month and cost less than our 10 day stay in tunis, mind you wwe stayed aat a lovely hotel in tunis named, The Golf Royale, after I found out the price I told my husband he should have chose a less pricey place , but he insisted I was comfortable for my visit and out honeymoon....lol The staff were very friendly and the rooms very clean and I loved having the wifi to talk with everyone here at home.

Thanks for the info. I have another question: we need to have a declaration not only stamped and signed by a commissioner of oaths but also have it sent to Ottawa to have it authenticated? Or do we just bring the declaration and have it done in Tunis?
Thanks, Sylvia

sylvia1979
  11/19/2012 12:15 EST

Oops, I am talking about the declaration that I am single and free to marry...thx

sylvia , I just got mine done at the Canadian embassy in Tunis, It was just a paper you sign stating that your single..

ghugg
  11/19/2012 16:19 EST

and if you were married before of course you need your divorce certificate...

sylvia1979
  11/23/2012 13:02 EST

No never married before..Thank you very much for the info.! I did end up sending the document to Ottawa, but also had extra copies signed by the comissioner of oaths and myself, and will bring those with me. I booked my flight for next month!! So nervous and so excited!

sylvia1979
  11/23/2012 13:06 EST

So after you were approved to sponsor him, how long, now, have you been waiting for an answer for him to be approved? Do you have any idea how long it could take? I cannot seem to find an answer on the government site. Did you provide documents, such as email messages, etc., proving that the relationship is for love?

Thanks!!

ghugg
  12/12/2012 22:20 EST

Shamirhi, to go to Algeria on a tourist/visitors visa you either have to have an invitation for the person you will be staying with or a letter from the hotel where you have a reservation with and since you are not married to this girl, you cant stay with her even at a hotel without a marriage certificate, so good luck to you.

Hi there,
You reminded me Summer 2004 when I got married in Algiers, it is very easy if you have a good network in Algiers, the first step is to get a visitor visa ( you need a letter of invitation from someone in Algeria) make sure you bring your original birth certificate, certificate of celibacy showing that you free to marry, then you have to go to the Foreign Services in Algiers where you complete a form along with couple of other documents, then you wait 2 to 3 weeks it can be short if you know someone after the approval from the police you get the certificate allowing you marry, you book an appointment in the registry office and all good you get a marriage certificate and a family book
