Hi,
I am an Indian expat,soon will bring family in Aligeria.I am thinking of buying a car here for personal use.
1.Is it easy to buy and maintain a car by an expat here( Paper work,insurence etc.)
2.Which is the most advisable car in terms of low maintainance,good resale price?
3.Is it better to go for a used one or a new one?
I may live he for 2-3 years.I have seen Renault and Piageot as most coomonly used brands.

Hi buying a car in Algeria is easy buy please see the procedure for getting the driving licence in Algeria. Without getting driving licence u cannot buy the car here .
Any way Renault is the best car for the Algerian roads and is bit expensive. You can visit maruthi showroom in Oran as they have opened a new office in oran and are going to import 50,000 cars for this financial year so and are cheap also . Please check the rates and also inform me the prices

I live in the uk, i went to alg bida last year nov,
Fuel price is 10da a liter, this is 10pence very cheap,
I was told you give 80% of your car inc back at the end of teyear if u do not
Claim, and the 20% is no claims bouns,
Hense the reason the cars have minor damage on them,
Thats all i know, info was told to be by wifes family,

Its dangerous to drive here in Algeria no traffic rules and Police checks everywhere.
