Can't speak for the other stuff, but there are a couple large stores similar to Wal-Mart and Target.

One is called Ardis and it is down the street from the Hilton. The other is Uno at the Bab Azzouar center.

Prices on things like cereal and coffee are similar to the US. Quality is generally a bit lower. Selection is decent, but common items like peanut butter and Ziploc bags are extremely hard to find.

Thought I would update all on my visits to Uno and Ardis.I found Ardis easier to get to, to park, etc and the selection seemed a bit better. I went to both on the same day and I was not expecting it to literally take the entire day. I live on the opposite side of Algiers. Still not used to all the people, traffic, etc. I was completely overwhelmed inside the grocery stores. In all, I'm glad we went but won't make the journey again!
