Greetings,
Yes. The intent is to have the American school open in September. Nonetheless, work is being done to find funds and ensure a minimum of kids to get the school started. According to the school Director Judith Drotar, the school will start with K-6. I live in the USA and I was hoping for an American school to open so I can go back home. Unfortunately, one of my kids is passed 6th grade...
Below is part of the email she sent me. You may want to contact her if you have kids in grades K-6 judithdrotar@yahoo.com :
While the agreement was signed in late December, the funding and reality of actually opening the school by the fall of 2016 is ongoing.

As the newly appointed Director, I can tell you that we will begin with a K-6 American curriculum school, hoping to attract at least 30-40 students the first year in order to sustain it.

Wow! 30K/year! Oh my goodness...this is more expensive than getting a Master's degree in Educational Leadership...
I suggest you check schools Academy Le Grand Atlas and Ardh El Amel School. These two schools are run by American Professional Educators who graduated from Harvard University. We were supposed to start a school together in Algiers, few years back, but things did not work out the way we wanted and we ended up going our separate ways. Nonetheless, I can guarantee you their professionalism and dedication for educating kids. What I am hearing though is that Ardh el amel is more strict on Islam considerations while Le Grand Atlas is more free spirit...Again this is what I heard i.e. I have not visited the schools yet.
Good luck finding 60 K for your two bundles of joy :-)
