Maybe Moving?

Hello all,

I've been thinking of relocating to Argentina. In fact, I currently know someone in Corrientes (sp?), and I know of 2 other families who moved from Argentina to Canada (I live in canada).

Can anyone tell me what is typically needed to move there? I'm not sure where we would move...we've never been to Argentina, but I've been exposed to the culture, language and photos and I just may be interested :)

Was moving there difficult? Did anyone bring pets? Was there quaranteen? Is the cost of living typically expensive? Is there a lot of jobs?

I'd love it if anyone could help me out!

Thanks!

Hi, sorry but I just became aware of expatexchange recently so I hadn't read your note previously. I have a consulting firm that specializes in expatriate administration, relocation and so forth. I was also an expatriate myself, in the US, for 3 years, where I was Expat Advisor for Latin America. As to some of your concerns: no quarantine for pets coming to Argentina. In order to live here legally you need a work permit/visa. Jobs depend on skills. If you come with US Dollars or Euros, you will find the cost of living hear cheaper than back home. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. VMF.

My husband and I are thinking of making to move to Argentina. We'd like to buy a small farm, which will keep me busy. He is a gunsmith, would be importing parts and selling finished guns, possibly exporting them to the US. Mostly they're blackpowder guns. Would this be possible, and how much effort will it take to get permits, licenses etc to do this? We would also be bringing our personal guns into the country, what about ownership, licenses, permits, etc?

Any info would be of help. Thanks in advance.

Sapphire,
try emailing me at zurrolaur@yahoo.fr in a few days. I will be back from Buenos Aires at that point and have some information I can dig up for you. It´s not a lot but it´s info I sent to someone else looking for gun information and maybe it will be useful

suerte
