Learning Spanish in Buenos Aires

I have been living and teaching English in Buenos Aires for several months now, and have wanted to find a Spanish class that can fit in with my teaching schedule and salary (or lack thereof!). I discovered a class for expats that's 2 days a week, 1 1/2 hours each for a month (12 hours total) for only US$120. The classes are at Vamos Spanish in Palermo, and I wanted to share this information with everyone else. Hope to see some more expats there! It starts on April 6!

Good for you! I would also like to recommend you and other people reading this post to seriously consider Rosario City as a great option for learning Spanish. At Che Rosario Spanish School www.cherosariospanish.com we offer intensive immersion courses as well as other plans customized to your specific needs. You can also attend virtual lessons staying in Buenos Aires or wherever you are through our virtual academy: www.SpanishEcademy.com
Mentioning expatexchange.com I'm sure you'll get some special discount.
Good luck!

One great school for 100% practical learning Spanish is CCLS BUENOS AIRES

the teachers in argentina don't make much money so you may be able to get private lessons cheap from a starving spanish teacher. I went to high school in B.A. and had cheap private tutors

I endorse what Jim said about getting what you pay for and this is something that rubs both ways too. Just as there are so many native English speakers who roll up here thinking that speaking English qualifies them to teach English, there are plenty of native Spanish speakers who think the same. Someone who understands the nuts and bolts of their language and who has the training and ability to share that understanding is worth more, will probably charge more and in the end will give you more too.
