I am looking for someone to assist me with a retirement visa for Argentina. I have emailed AFNI for info and have yet to hear back from them. I have heard (many times) that ARCA is outrageously expensive so do not want to use them. Can anyone advise me on this issue? Thanks,Aleister [US citizen)

Aleister,
My wife and I have lived in Mendoza for three years now and I am not sure there is such a thing as a "retirement Visa" if you mean like Panama offers.
Rentista Visas are available but you need proof of an income of AR 8,000 Pesos a month (US$2,000). This income requirement was recently increased dramatically.
Or one might pursue a business visa.
I suggest you check your nearest Argentine Embassy and someone there will give you information.
Good luck.
Tom

The retirement visa is called the visa pensionado. It is a temporary residence visa, renewable annually and no longer leads to permanent residency. It is dependent on your receiving a minimum pension income from a verifiable source outside Argentna. Details are on the website for the Argentine Embassy in London here.. http://www.argentine-embassy-uk.org/docs_eng/consular_information/pensionervisa.shtml so I guess there will be an equivalent wherever you are currently located.
