Safety/stability in BA?

I'm an American who grew up in downtown BA as a missionary kid, and I've been wanting to move back since. I know that violent crime is not a huge concern there if you're smart, but I'm a little worried about the current political and economic climate.

We're a young married couple, and my husband (sales/marketing/recruitment) would probably try to get on with a US corporation with international branches down there. I'd probably try to teach English with a TESOL certification or something, although I will have a Masters in Higher Ed soon.

Any thoughts or advice?

I would wait until after the upcoming October elections and probably wait and see if Argentina is ordered to pay Paul; Singer's Vulture Funds 1.5 billion.

However, that being said the fact is BA is no longer inexpensive yet affordable compared to NYC. If you have access to US dollars and can get them into Argentina you have a big advantage because you will basically receive almost double the AR pesos compared to the official rate but if your future income is tied to the AR peso you are in for quite an economic roller coaster.
