Luckily Argentine wine is doing okay worldwide. This was the first year we made wine using micro-vinificacion: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Next year we will include Chardonnay as our 2013 Chardonnay harvest was 65,000 pounds.

Since the official and unofficial exchange rates are widening I am wondering if Argentina is headed for another monetary collapse? What do you people with boots on the ground think?

" and you get caught up in a "rape" and all you heard was a "Yes"! We are not gentlemen, caballeros!

Bob,
You state "... and, "yes", here might mean a "maybe", and a "maybe" might be a "No! "
This is so true. I can't count the times I was representing a vineyard Buyer and knew of a Argentine property say for US$200,000 and when I approached the Owner that my Buyer was interested and would pay the US$200,000 the Owner shrugged and said, "Okay, but I think now I want US$250,000 or US$300,000.

I know Bill Bonner and have worked with his ETR company.
I think a few points could use some clarification.
Regarding cabs, indeed the fares have doubled over the past few years but many cabbies, especially in BA, will not use the meter and quote you an inflated price. And many of these same enterprising cabbies are notorious for fobbing off fake US$100 Ben Franklins.
If everyone in Argentina felt like the cab driver who comprised the majority group of ghost people who voted for Christina in last election?
The poor and lower wage Argentines love Christina because she keeps raises welfare amounts and low income wages. In 2008 my vineyards workers earned the Government mandated amount of AR 1,400 pesos a month plus 23% in benefits. Now they earn AR 4,200 pesos monthly plus 23% in benefits. Vineyards materials have risen 300%, gas for the tractor 200% etc.
Meanwhile the prices I received for my grapes have remained exactly the same for the last three years.

At least their is a significant number of people willing to look at the truth of things.
Try talking to US Americans about documented abuse and tyranny in the US and they treat you like a heretic. The holy US gov. couldn't possibly do those things!
Where a significant if small percentage are willing to face reality their is hope. Where delusion is gospel it is strangled.
