Hi,
I was wondering if anybody can help me.
I owe land in Argentina and it was given to a friend to look after. He later wanted to buy it but never paid for it. Somebody else moved in, it was arranged by our friend and we got told from our friend, the person will look after the place and pays the tax for it as exchange.
How can we get the person from the land, because the person using the land now, is claiming it is now his property, because we did not show up for such a long time.
I would be very thankful for any helpful comments. Thanks Aurora

LAWYER. LAWYER. LAWYER. Do not get caught up in writing to forums, talking to friends who don't have a clue etc. Get a LAWYER now!

Argentina is a very PRO labor/tenant country and will do about anything and everything to protect his rights and not enforce your rights.

If the worker is smart and he probably is, he thinks he's got you over a barrel and he could be right because you do nothing for so long.

It will come down to a matter of "time" and "money" and if you lack either one you are pretty much screwed.

I would also sue your friend as he.she is the one who put it into motion.

Hi,

Get a lawyer as soon as possible. If a person pays tax for 2 years on a property they can claim the land as their own. You can verify this information with the lawyer. It is extremely difficult to remove squatters or families with children from your home or property in Argentina.

Kind regards
Nelieta

Where are you now, the USA or ...?

Where is your property located, San Rafael, Cordoba ???

Do you have all of the paperwork that went along with the closing when you purchased the property?

When you purchased your property did you use an Escribano?

Also, as already brought up, have you kept the property and asset taxes up to date?

Hi
I am a Real Estate Agent.
He need to be lin the property for 20 years and prove it.
Open in justice and must meet some requirements that are not easy to prove, for example pay for this time tax, a lot of people confirm he lived for this time.
Please send us more information about time, if the property is better when you go to Australia, etc.
Good luck
