Hello All
I am currently living the UK and want to start a business selling some products from Argentina.
I have been trying to contact manufacturers in Argentina through email (in English) but none seem to come back to me.
Do they simply delete the email if they see it isn't in Spanish? How well is English spoken in the non-IT/non-Biotech sector?
If English is rarely spoken, how does one go about importing products from Argentina? Are there small companies or individuals who will carry out factory inspections / product quality assurance for companies world wide that would like to import from Argentina?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

As they say, "It's complicated."
Exporting is highly controlled, micro-managed and heavily taxed by the present government and many companies may not think it worth the bother. Add to that the way personal contact and recommendations work plus that you don't speak the language I'd say the dice are loaded against you.
Please don't give away any commercial advantage in your reply but, why Argentina? Wouldn't it be easier from a tax point of view to import from Europe or from a language point of view from somewhere like the Philippines or anywhere in the British Commonwealth? Or from a personal contact point of view, China?

In my experience it is very rare to receive an answer to an email from any business, as it means to take an unnecessary responsibility.
Every unpleasant event in Argentina is caused by 'somebody else'.

"... unpleasant event in Argentina is caused by 'somebody else."
This is so true and a trick Argentines learned from the best, soon-to-be ex-Presidente Christina Kirchner.
