" We are a couple in our early 30s with 2 children aged 6 & 8 who are seriously thinking of moving to Brisbane. We are coming for a 3 week holiday in January to get a feel for the place before we set the ball rolling. We would like to hear from anyone who has done similar or has any advice that may help. Mike is a Ceramic Tiler so it would be handy to hear from someone in the Building Trade, or anyone who has any advice or would just like to chat in general. We will be grateful for any info. Hello there, I'm surfing the net almost daily when I come in from work to find out what I can about working in Australia. I am a primary school teacher and rather than emigrate, I've been advised to find a job and work there for a year or so before applying for citizenship. Are you going to apply to emigrate. I hope you have a lovely holiday and I'd love to know your thoughts on Brisbane. I am also thinking about Brisbane. The best of luck to you and I hope things run smoothly.

We are hoping to move from Scotladn to North of Brisbane the Sunshine coast as soon as our visa's come through we have just arrived back from Aus and love it Queensland was our favourite place adn we went everywhere.

The Sunshine Coast is stunning, we too are waiting on our visa's but we only put ours in last week so we have the long wait ahead of us. We know where we want to live and everyhting from
when we need to take our driving theory to private healthcare etc, I would love to keep in touch.

Hi Carrianne, I am in the process of completing de facto visa forms so I can rejoin my partner Dave. He's an Aussie from the Brisbane area and has gone back to work while I am stuck in the rainy NE of England filling out forms. I spent about 8 months in Brisbane and QLD in 98 and a month there last year and I love it! Would be happy to fill you in on my view of it. I'm also quite daunted by the whole visa process and would love to talk to anyone who has been through/is going through the whole thing or has any useful contacts etc. Here's hoping...
