Just back from NYC...

I just had a wonderful trip back in the U.S. New York seemed quite vibrant, despite all of the "happenings" of last year. I did talk to a couple of people that were affected by the tragedies, which is quite sad. It's funny how some people I've talked to outside of New York say that we need to move on, but how can you say that when those that lost loved ones have had barely a year to adjust to such an awful loss!

I had so many wonderful dinners in New York and had great fun with old friends. It is good to be back in Australia though! I will be traveling again soon, but I'm really enjoying Sydney after being away from it!

Anybody else feel this way after being out of your host country for a while?

Hi, Janet.

I know exactly what you mean.

I used to live in San Francisco for several years, and I can remember how much I looked forward to returning there when home in the U.K. on holiday.

By the way, I love this forum. I am quite possibly moving to the Sydney area, though it could just as easily be other countries as well. I'm happy I've found this place on the Web to have discussions on life outside the U.K.!
