Emmigrated just over a year ago from Lowestoft England and now living in Brisbane.We had a look up the coast of Queensland before settling in Brisbane and found the beaches and scenery got better as we travelled up the coast, but we did find the heat became harder to live with and work was a bit thinner on the ground We never got as far north as Port Douglas but I think it only has a population of 4 thousand and relies on the tourist industry somewhat much like Cairns but the beaches are said to be picture postcard .A bit different to Wells on Sea and Cromer! One of my mates from work lived in Cairns and knows a bit about the area and sugested the safer bet would be to look at Cairns first.

Hi Richie,

Thanks for your reply. Are you enjoying living in Brisbane or are you missing Lowestoft? What part of Brisbane do you live?
Will e-mail again soon but at the moment we have 10 days to get our application form in as paul is 35 in July and after that date we will not have enough points to emigrate so I better get back to the paperwork.
