Hi, I'm actually from a moving company so a little bias when it comes to suggesting a moving company. We currently do work for the Australian Defence, US Embassy, British High commission. If you contact me at sasha@vanlines.com.au, I will be able to arrange a surveyor view your effects in the UK. We have a link to our website via expatexchange.

Allied International is a VERY professional company we used in the States. We are moving next month so we will see when we get there how our furniture faired. They are more reasonable than Graebel.

When we moved from London last year, we used PSS. They were very professional and we observed minimal damage when compared to other moves. We have moved with the U.S. Navy five times in the last 20 years and always seemed to experience more broken items. Just remember to remove any of the prohibited items. I forgot about the Xmas wreaths (moved in August) and was gigged (A$700) pretty heavy (in my book) for their destruction.
Good Luck, Jerry

We have moved in and out of Australia two times over the past 6 years and both times used Crown Worldwide.
The service was great, and I would use them again.
Hope this helps
