My wife and I have been considering moving to Australia for almost a year and I am just about to submit the application, which we know will be approved. Most recently she has begun to have serious doubts because of the distance that she will be from her family and the introduction into a new culture, one that I am more familiar with being an ex South African. We have always said it would be a great experience if even for just 2 years, but we have a dog and so this is a big/costly move to make especially if it is not going to be a great one. We have never been to Australia, but I have my parents living in Sydney for 5 months a year.
Moving doubts seem fairly natural and I must admit that I am having them too albeit for different reasons, none of which are overbearing with the exception of worrying about her happiness. Has anyone been in a similar position? Any advice? Also does anyone know what the process of bringing a dog back to the US should we decide to move back in two years? Does he have to be Quarentined again? We have saved quite a bit of money and I have a huge network of people to help me find work once I arrive.
Any advice would help.
Thanks, Adam
