Boston to Brisbane need help!

I've decided to take a leap and move to Australia while I still can. I'm 24 years old and have started a career in banking in Boston. However, I feel like I'll be stuck here if I don't make a change. I'm living with a Canadian friend from college in Brisbane. She's headed out there at the end of November to start working. I'm trying to be out there by April at the latest. I don't have any idea of what to do for work but I do have some money saved up. I'm wondering what someone my age can expect when applying for a visa, looking for work, making friends etc. I enjoy going to the beach, going to bars, traveling, staying in shape...Anybody have some quality advice for me?

hello ciderman,

I am new to this site and am looking to move to Australia within the nest two years, if not sooner. I have been preparing(i.g.) setting up a bank account overseas, visas, medical...etc; how is the state of the economy in Australia and would it be had to find a job upon settling within say the first six months. I don't really have any jobs lined up; the only thing I have going for me is relatives in Sydney and a friend in Ballarat. Granted, I may be a little ahead of most people but nothing is guaranteed. What can you recommend. I am will be moving from the states.

regards,

an exile
