Just to let you know, Perth is officially the most expensive city to live in. Rents, food, etc are expensive. For cost of living try www.numbeo.com

Do you have a job in Perth? There are monetary and/or employment requirements for immigration to Australia.

Moved from U.S. to Australia 4 years ago - happy to answer any questions. Post about immigration requirements is correct - employment is necessy. However, Perth is no longer more expensive than Melbourne and Sydney - if it ever really was - end of mining boom has cooled off Perth.
