Hi - We have just returned from another holiday to Austria and our long term goal is to move there to bring up our 18 month old son. I wondered if you had any idea about how easy it would be to gain employment? My husband is a vehicle mechanic, do you have any idea whether there is a strong demand for them in Austria? Do you have any general advice on how easy it would be to move there as our permanent home? Thanks - Gaynor x

Making Austria your permanent home is the easy part. We've lived here for nearly 3 years now. The employment bit is the tricky part. Perhaps you could try looking to see if the OEMTC (like the AA) need mechanics as they are very big over here. Does your husband speak German? Where are you trying to move to, as this will obviously affect his chances of employment? Nothing's impossible though. Best of luck.

Hi
I've been researching now for a couple of years the idea of leaving the United States with my family. I have a wife and 5 children. I'm self-employed and work off of the internet so I can work from home. It's been some years since being in Austria however it's my thought that it is indeed a wonderful place to live. Planning the relocation is another matter altogether.
Your thoughts?
