Hello,
My wife and I are planning a move to Austria. I am a sports chiropractor in the U.S. and was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the current state of chiropractic in Austria. I know that in the past, a person would have to be an MD in order to treat as a chiropractor. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello, I contacted the chiropractric association of Austria and they told me you do indeed have to be an MD, or the other alternative is to be a physio. My next step might be to find out what is involved with taking a physio education and if I can fast track the 3 years in two having also already done a chiropractic degree in the UK. I would be really interested to know how you're getting on and what route you decided to follow.

Hi Doc, I am also a DC. I looked into Austria as well just a few months ago and that seems to be the case. You have to be an MD. If you are close to the border you can skip into Italy and practice as a DC. I know there is an opening in the northern part of Italy. Look on parker.edu for the listing.
I envy you.
