Long term rental - where to find info?

Hi there

I am trying to source a long term rental, 6 - 12 months, for anywhere in the western side of Austria. Spent significant time in the Tyrol, but open to finding anything that 1st - suits my needs, and 2 - I can afford.

I have obviously done the usual internet search, contacted agents in the localities, but all have drawn a dead end. Advice given was to be on the ground and speak to the locals, which I can do but not with an indefinite timeframe. So, wondered if anyone has any idea or has been through same? Wondered if there is a local classifieds or internet equivalent to gumtree/craigslist, etc?

I am happy to be a little rural, but 10 mins to a ski lift or lake, 10 mins to a village, must be pet friendly (dogs - plural - friendly), and have a good internet connection as I work from home (I will consider installing the connection as long as the good connection actually can be created). 2 beds, of course warm and comfortable but does not need to be swish. Rental amount is flexible but prefer to keep under €800 - 1000.

Any help or info greatly appreciated (or if anyone knows of a farmer with a cottage up a mountain or down a track he wishes to let out would be most appreciative )

Thanks

Alex

Hi,

You should find plenty of places to rent in the Kleine Zeitung (kleinezeitung.at). There is a copy for each province of choice. For lift accessible, ski lifts that is, check the Ski Resort Area finder at bergfex.com to figure out where you want to be and then work the problem backwards.

Kind regards,
