" Hi, There is an opportunity in the works whereby I may be moving to the Bahamas for a full-time tech job. Everything sounds great upfront, but I was wondering if there were any hidden pitfalls with this process that anyone would know about. . I''m fairly unattached in the States, so my move would be a relatively easy affair. I do have four cats that I would need to import with me, but that doesn''t seem to be too difficult from what I''ve read. . First of all there is a couple of points you need to know before making the big move.. EVERYTHING that you bring with to the island will be taxed even the cats We brought our 2 cats with us 2 years ago and we had to pay import tax before we could get them When you go to collect your belongings from cargo area you have to go through a Broker on the island that will cost you about $25.00 as you as induvidual is not allowed to handle the trancaction ..
