Dear Adie,
I hope you have had some sort of response to your question. Yes, there is a large scale project about to start on Cable Beach - check http://www.bahamar.com/ for opportunities.
That being said, unless you have some specialized skills, it may be difficult. There are going to be a large number of locals hired for the labourer positions, and a large number brought in from China, as they are the majority money lenders. So, if you have special skills (e.g. as an engineer, project manager, lead something or other, etc.), there may be some opportunities for you.
All that being said, you must find a potential employer prior to "moving." In order to work here, you would need to go through a labour certification process (job posting, no one in the Bahamas who is eligible to work and qualified for the job applying, then employer given permission to hire from abroad), then you will need a work permit, which your employer would need to apply for. This could take little time, or it could take a lot of time (up to 9 to 12 months) depending upon the urgency to fill the position and whom your employer knows!
If you have the potential to work for a reputable company, they will go through the legal channels to get you here to work legally. Otherwise, they face some big penalties.
Good luck!

Hi Breija. Many thanks for you reply. Do you live in Nassau. I have sent my details already to Baha Mar but I am just trying to find the contractors on the island that have already submitted prices to them. I am a project manager and I have worked over there before in Abaco. If you live in Nassau would you be able to find out for me the companies. Adie.

Hi Adie,
Glad to hear that you have contacted BahaMar on your own.
I do live in Nassau, but I'll be really honest - it would be much better for you to find out yourself what companies you could apply to. If you have worked in Abaco before, then perhaps it would help to contact the company you worked for back then. They may be able to help you with finding out contact information for contractors who might be involved in the project.
All the best!
