I'm in need of detailed information of how I can ship my belonging back to the United States without breaking the bank. I'm moving belonging in suitcases & small storage totes. Possibly 10 altogether @ 50lbs each. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

4moreyears, you and I have the same thoughts. I am planning on moving back to the US also and in need of the same info. So far I have only inquired with Kelly's and they gave me info to contact Martin's Moving & Trucking, Mackey St by PI bridge, tel # 893-1173. I haven't contacted them as yet since I plan the move beginning of 2013. If anyone has had experience doing so or knows what type of containers can be used please let us know. please do so. I also have plastic storage containers filled mostly with clothing. Have household goods also to ship.=, i.e. dishes, cookware, desktop computer etc.

Martins was not reliable in getting my shipment which included my car to me in a timely manner. They have to contract with a North American moving company and putting that off mean keeps your money in pocket longer...My container sat in Port Everglades for mos before I could get it and I had to rent a car and you know how that add $$$.

biggripp : reviews GHC Movers & PackersWe do apologize to youAs Owner of GHC MOVERS AND PACKERS, I would like to apologize to Mrs S.Cordero, that wrote this complaint. I would also like to add that your reimbursement will be sent out. I know there is no excuse for what has happened, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, and remove these harsh words when every thing is settled. Sincerely, Stephen Smith Date Added: July 13, 2012 SHARDITA : reviews GHC Movers & PackersThey will steal your money!Don't use this company as the owner Stephen Smith double charged me for unloading a container. He has promised repeatedly to reimburse me for monies owed but it has as been 3 months and I no longer expect to see my money. Don't believe anything he says and don't ever pay in advance for anything. Date Added: May 31, 2012 Ads

In my company's defense, We were hired by this client and did her a very big favor and reduced her bill by $2,000.00. I had to involve two other companies to assist with the delivery of the shipment. The amounts I was quoted by the other companies i the states changed once the container arrived. I hired one to truck the container from port everglades to tampa, and another to offload the container. The company that offloaded the container charged me double because they needed 6 men and a bus to remove a 150lbs piano out of the container that I loaded in Nassau with just 3 people. The client was highly upset, and instead of being patient with me to refund the money she just decided to kill my credit. Please also be aware that if you go to my website www.ghcmoversandpackers.com and contact any of my past clients, there would be no negative remarks or complaints.

This fits easily on a yacht sailing to the US. Personally, I took many with me before. Talk to boaters for the Nassau- US landing part and take it from there. Rgds. D

Great suggestion, Dolfie!
That said, does anyone know whether the "cruise ship" - i.e., the overnight run - is still running between Nassau & Fort Lauderdale or Miami? If so, it used to take 10 pieces of luggage at no charge. Then, you can offload at the other end and only need to plan the transpo from either the Miami Port or the Fort Lauderdale port via land transpo to wherever you are going.
Alternatively, I encourage you to contact the Betty K and Tropical. Often, boats go back to Florida empty or half empty, and you may be able to negotiate a good rate. They would likely palate your boxes/totes or give you one of their "lockers" to ship it all in, and then you would need to arrange for transpo from Florida.
Good luck!
