Move to the Bahamas - Need to make a decision very soon

Hello!
We are Canadians currently living in Asia and with a potential opportunity to move to the Bahamas.
Appreciate your thoughts/comments re. education... more precisely the international schools and their IB programs.
The comment that was made to me was that, in general, expats tend to send their 16-yr olds to the US or Canada to finish the last 2 years of the IB program abroad (boarding) as the local international schools would not be that good.
I have no position on this and, as you can imagine, being able to provide our kids with the best education possible is very important to us,
I would very much appreciate your views.
Many thanks!

There are IB programs here that are very good. Lyford Cay School and St. Andrew's are the established IB schools for high school. There is also Windsor Prep, which is much newer and which I have not heard a lot of feedback about. Both St. Andrew's and Lyford Cay have good international reputations.

Most expats actually keep their kids in school here, while many local Bahamians send their kids to boarding school in the US, Canada, or UK. That said, if your 16+ year old has relatives in Canada where he/she could live while finishing out school, that would enable them to not have to go to boarding school. Boarding school can often cost $50,000/yr for non-residents.
