Hi everyone,
We are moving to Dhaka on august this year and we have not much knowledge about this country. My husband is going to work as a japanese expert of JICA organisation in the ministry. We are considering to enroll our 6yrs daughter in an American Intn'l school and would like to stay near that school especially diplomatic area around the international community. We want a modern house with fully furnished and have all the facilities like generator, AC,INTERNET,CABLE ETC. Can anyone tell us how to contact a reliable real estate or how to find a good house? And also do we need a floor stand fan? Because we have a new good panasonic stand fan which we currently using in Phnom penh so if necessary then I will not sell those fan and bring it there. We have no idea that most of the houses in dhaka have ceiling fan or not? The voltage is same in Dhaka and Phnompenh. Please reply me soon because next week we are returning back to tokyo and stay two month there and will start preparing for our next moving. thanks

Welcome to Dhaka. You may rent an apartment at Baridhara, the place is close to American Intn'l school. All of the houses are fully equipped with all facilities like AC, Internet, Cable in Dhaka.
I can assist you to find a good apartment in Dhaka. First let me know how many rooms you require or do you have any special choice on finding apartment.
You can use stand fans here though most of the rooms has ceiling fan options.
Please feel free to contact me at free of cost.
All the best. --- Shams

Hi Shams,
Thanks a lot for you quick response. We need 4-5 bedrooms apartment with all facilities especially the generator and good security. I heard about the frequent power-cuts at most of the areas. It would be nice if we take a rent of a good independent house at diplomatic area. And also if you don't mind , I would like to know which is economical buying a second hand car or hiring a car with a driver? B/R Bithika
