" I am expecting to move to Brussels from early June on a contract basis (therefore getting little information from an employer). I have been looking for information about short term furnished rentals. The places I have contacted so far (apart from one) are either very expensive or just don''t bother to reply. I will need somewhere with easy access to Evere. Anybody got any ideas?. Also, can anyone explain the rules for regsitering with the Belgian authorities?. Any other advice gratefully received. "

" Hi! We live in Evere, and before moving to our permanent apartment, we stayed for 2 months at the Brussels Business Flats in Evere on Avenue Henri Dunant. +32 (0)2 705 05 21 is their telephone number +32 (0)2 726 07 66 is their fax This is their address H. Dunantlaan 38 b 5 1140 Evere The people who run it are very nice and they were very prompt in replying to our inquiries from the US. We paid about 37,000 BEF (which is about $1000) a month. This included all the charges plus a cleaning lady. This is about standard for furnished rentals in the area. We find Evere to be a very pleasant place; it has very easy access to grocery shopping and the public transportation is very good -- we have been here almost 3 months, and have felt no need to buy a car. If you reply to our private email, we would be happy to give you more information, our telephone number etc. ken_nichol-@acm.org Please don''t hesitate to contact us! Regards, Ken Nichols & Aminta O''Connor "

" Have a look at the website http://www.xPATs.com, it has detailed information (under ""newcomer"") about the procedure for registering, and I would advise you to do a search of previous questions using keywords like ""accommodation"" (but I know some people will have mispellt it so persevere!) or ""studio"" - I know someone put up a heap of websites in response to a question that referred to studio flats.
