" Hello. I am planning to move to the Brussels area in September and would like to continue working in the pharmaceutical industry in which I have over 5 years experience. I am a degreed chemist.. Does anyone have any experience utilizing headhunders or employment agencies in their search for a job overseas? What were your experiences like and, most of all, can anyone recommend any leads to finding employment within Belgium. I am unsure of which steps I should take first. Thank you, Laura - lkuzenski@yahoo.com "

" To Laura and Alexandra A nice source for job hunting is the weekly magasine ""The Bulletin"". They also have a website with a link to jobs in Belgium www.thebulletin.com; overall the Bulletin is full of useful info for expats in Belgium and I think they have a wide range of job offers for English speaking professionals. Good luck in your job search! Catherine Stuttgart, Germany "

" Hi there jobsearcher, If you are looking for a job in brussels, try out those websites : www.monster.be, www.stepstone.be, www.jobscareer.be, www.jobat.be, there are plenty of websites. Also, try interim agencies, it is something that works very well here (creyf''s interim, expectra, vera interim etc). And for general info, try our yellowpages : www.yellowpages.be, you can search there by keyword, name, area etc. it is really practical. goodluck ! "

" Dearest, You have to ask yourself what it is you exactly want. As soon as possible a job? Well than I advise you to contact some ''interimkantoren''. This are offices who deliver kwalified personel for companies on a temporal basis. Laura''s experience and education garanteers an immediat job in Brussels, Leuven or Antwerp. Possibly you want to seek for the job that is made for you. Than you need time and ''selectiekantoren''. They will try to connect you with the job of your dreams. This link http://werk.start.be/ gives an overvieuw of interimkantoren, selectiekantoren and other possibilities for searching a job in Belgium. For the record: Official (from the government) sites are: http://vdab.be/ (Flanders) http://www.bgda.be/ (Brussels) http://www.hotjob.be/francais/accueil.htm (Walloons) http://vwspr.fgov.be/ (Federal government - Belgium) http://europa.eu.int/comm/employment_social/elm/eures/index.htm (European) Note that it is also important to know that in Walloons you''ll find yourself in a French-speeking environment, in Flanders it is a Dutch-speeking environment. Brussels finally is mainly French, but also Dutch and certainly also English. Greetings, Gunter "
