" Hello, I am currently looking at an expat offer in Brussels and would appreciate any input. I currently live in California (USA) and have a wife and three young children ages 6,3 and 15 months! Can someone tell me what is considered a good offer and more importantly where I can get some cost of living indexes to ensure I won''t be paying more to live in Belgium. Thanks Daniel "

" It is very affordable to live here if you don''t take the first apt. or house. there are plenty of organizations and facilities for english speakers and you will be giving your children the blessing of foreign language and culture....I am from Seattle and what I paid for a studio there I pay for a loft here.....It is more than affordable, and there is plenty of housing. Welcome to Belgium.... "

" Hi Suki I am Kiran from India. I am looking at moving to Belgium. I have lived in the US in the past, so I have a good idea of expat living. But Europe is going to be a new experience. I have read some of your earlier posts here and find them very positive. I have a few basic queries and would like you to help with anything you can add 1) I hear the pogressive taxes reach 55% peak. If I get $ 70,000 equivalent (me, my husband, kids of 4 years and 2 years) how much will I net, and is that considered sufficient? 2) I hear apartment rents vary from $ 500-1500 depending on where you live. I am thinking of Antwerp. What is a practical guesstimate there for 2BR semi-furnished apartment 3) My son needs to go to English medium schools. What are the fees one has to budget for 4) Is it difficult to get a driving license in Belgium? Appreciate any feedback "
