" Hello Folks: I''m moving to the Netherlands in a few weeks, and due to many circumstances I will be flying in to Brussel. I will be bringing my two pet cats with me. I''ve found all the requirements needed as far as vaccinations and paperwork are concerned for the Netherlands (from the Embassy''s web site), but I haven''t so far been able to find any information about what is needed to bring the cats in to Belgium. I''m hoping that the requirements are similar. Does any one know what I''ll need? If not, I''ll call the Embassy in Washington D.C. (my email sent last week regarding this has so far not been answered). Does anyone know if there is a Belgian consulate on the west coast of the United States? Thank you all very much! Scott "

" Folks: Soon after I posted this message I got a response from the Belgian Embassy in Washington, DC, and attached were the requirements: 1. Travelling from the U.S. to Belgium with your pets (dog-cat) For accompanied animals you must submit a rabies vaccination certificate. This certificate must be issued by a US certified veterinary surgeon and must contain the following information :  A statement in English that the animal has been inoculated with a U.S. official, inspected and approved rabies vaccine  Date of vaccination  Type of vaccine used and expiration date, the name of the manufacturer and the manufacturer''s batch number  Description of the animal (sex, age, breed, hair color and markings)  Name and address of owner of the animal (in the US and in Belgium) Also, please note :  The vaccination of your cat or dog must be given at least 30 days and not more than a year prior to entry into Belgium. For certain precise cases a derogation (to reduce the 30 days period to 15 days) can be obtained from the Belgian Ministry of Agriculture in Brussels through the Washington Office at : Embassy of Belgium 3330 Garfield Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20008 Tel (202) 625-5839 Fax (202) 342-2683  Airlines companies demand also a health certificate, this certificate must as well be issued by a US certified veterinary surgeon and must be dated no more than 10 days prior to entry into Belgium. Well, I hope this will be of help to others. Thanks, Scott "
