I have lived near Mol in Flanders for almost 18 months and find it very lonely. I have yet to meet any other expats. Does anyone know of a club where English speaking people meet. It seems that everything is centred around Brussels which for me is not a practical solution as it takes over an hour to get there.

" Hi Jen, Sorry this is a little late, I have not been monitoring the site for a few weeks. I live in Mechelen which is not that far from Antwerpen. I see where Mol is on the map and it not that far. I have friends in Mechelen and St. Katelijne Wavre that speak English. If you want to get together sometime we would like to have you. Do you bicycle or walk. I belong to a walking and bicycling club and have met people this way. Do you have transportation? If you want we could meet half way, I am not as familiar with the Herentals area, however I can always learn. Cheers, Denise "

" Hi Denise Thanks for replying. I might take you up on your offer to meet, but I was looking for something a little closer to Mol. Perhaps joining a walking club would help. Have you learnt Dutch yet? Jen "

" Jen, Your welcome anytime and anytime you need to talk I am available. My home number is 015 26 26 18 and my gsm number is 0476 200 948 work is 02 556 7456. I am trying to assimilate in the Dutch environment, however, my Belgian friends want to learn English and we speak English or French. I am picking up phrases and words, but not much on conversation. Are you working in Mol? What do you do? Where are you from? I am from Denver and have been here nearly four years. I worked in Kuala Lumpur for thirteen months and 6 months in Denver between KL and Belgium. There are walking clubs all over Belgium and should be some close to you. I don''t think you are that far away from Mechelen. Cheers, Denise "

" Hi Denise I''m from Oxford in England. My husband works for the European Commission and for the last five years we have lived in California (which I loved), Japan and now Belgium. Unfortunately I am unable to work because I have M.E (chronic fatigue syndrome in U.S.A). Might give you a ring sometime. Jen "

" Sorry to hear about ME. I can''t imagine having something like that. I don''t know what I would do, as I don''t have a husband. Been there and done that. I have 2 boys 24, 28 and they live in Denver. I will be traveling to Den Haag this next week, leaving Sunday evening and returning Friday the 27th. Have a great week. Cheers, Denise "
