Hi, 2.500€ is good if you have that in hand, I mean, if taxes and so are paid by your employer. But don't expect to safe too much of that, life is expensive, especially in Brussels.

Greets, Hans.

Three of you on 2500€ is not going to cut it in Brussels. I'm also expecting that you'll find that this is your net pay, not your take-home, in which case, lop off 50% for taxes. 1250€ a month is not livable here, pure and simple.

I live in a very small town in a small house and, even with the pay of my wife, things are tight. Cost of food is about 30-60% higher than the US, housing may be a bit less but it very much depends on where and what you get. Utilities are outrageously expensive [electricity is about 4x what I paid in SF, gas 3X, and H2O 3x...].

Renegotiate if you're able.

AjH

PS: Health insurance is a bit of a joke, too... Don't bet on saving if you have any health issues and the red tape can be very tough.
