Coming in January... will I find housing on Ambergris Caye?

I'm heading to Belize, sight unseen, in January with my girlfriend and hope to stay at least 6 months.

What are my chances of finding a decent rental on Ambergris Caye during January in the US$1000/month range?

Any suggestions for realtors or rental agents?

Thanks!

Hi. The best on the island is Bleasemanagement.com you need to spk to Coleen or Tom, they are wonderful, but your coming at the height of the season, most book up atleast a yr before !!!! If you want a good realtor, dont do rentals, try Sunrise realty owned by Amanda Symes and she has a reat team, super nice and lived on the island for yrs.

Thank you Bobby Vee. I was in touch with Colleen about a month ago, but wondered if other names would come up. It's good to get some confirmation.

What about Caye Caulker? Any opinion on that island instead of Ambergris?

Its a lot small and probably more difficult to find accommodation now , a lot less to do on CC than AC . There are cheap back pack places on AC such as Pedro's , but by now anything half decent usually has been booked. Our beach bungalow is booked thro to end of April

ezeebe -
I'm planning on flying in around Dec. 7, but am always up for a good road trip! My girlfriend can't join me until February and I've already secured a small house on Ambergris Caye for 6 months.

I live in northern Colorado. My email is [email protected], if you would like to chat more about this. Or find me on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/tracey.s.stark

cheers!
