Hi there We are looking at making a purchase in belize in the next year or so. I have been in love with Belize for many years now. I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers. Perhaps fair market value. Where I can find deals.
I am looking for the largest tract of raw jungle land I can buy for $50000'or less. What is fair market value? Any pointers or preferable locations.
Distance to the coast is not overly important as long as it's reasonably safe yet secluded
Any opinions or pointers?
Thanks everyone

Raw jungle land is cheaper in the South than in the West. You are better off by doing your own research like looking up several realtors and then comparing it to each other. I would recommend going to realtors like Joshua Lohr from Ceiba realty or people from Remax. You can also try the local newspapers or even the pawn shops in the North and in Belize City.

Thanks for the reply
It looks as if there prices vary greatly from one realtor to another, also from reading other forums it seems as if you can buy much cheaper when you get to know some locals rather then go through realtors who tend to inflate the prices? Is there any truth to this?
Is it possible to buy land of local belezians?

A realtor is going to want their 10% for marketing and selling the lot, so of course its cheaper to buy from local land owners, just make sure you have a good honest attorney check it out !!!

In my searches I have found an average of $1000/acre in BZ. Using a realtor is fine, but not like in the states, they ONLY represent the seller... you are on your own. They will show what they have in stock. I have researched Vista Realty and they seem to be all over the country more than anyone else as well as CPC, Ceiba also has good properties.

John Acott at Remax San Ignacio is great. You see his listings all over Cayo.

Hello Kcmitch, I have been living in Northen Belize for 10yrs and have got to know the locals and agents. The agents are in it for the MONEY$$$, most the locals just want a fare price. I am offering a new service to fill in that gap. You can take a look here www.corozalbelizeproperty.com
