AC condos. Comments for 2 selections

My wife and I had two units catch our attention yesterday online. One at Barrier Reef and one at Cloisters (ironically, steps from Barrier Reef condos). So we seen a 2 bed ground floor looking at the beach unit in Cloisters. Googled a bit and see a person was murdered there in 2015. We know nothing else except the news story and the real estate listing. Then we seen a stand alone lagoon villa at Barrier Reef. 3 bedroom and we could star gaze on the roof. Also park a small boat out back to use reef snorkling. Again we googled. We see there is a legal dispute for years. I think with developer and/or owner and managers? Pool is closed. Bar and restaurant closed. We know nothing more than google and the listing. Everyone here has been so great so far. HELP! Lol...ok...Bobbbyyy I think you lived on AC. Perhaps others. Any info on todays (2016) status on these locations? I know I am supposed to contact the real estate agent and I have emailed. While waiting...am I walking into a hornets nest at either one of these locations?

All replies are unofficial and subjective...no guarantee either way. I understand that. Just hoping for some quick tidbits to ponder before booking a trip just to visit AC and these units. I can only afford two trips to Belize before making a decision. It is possible, I think, yo rent our condi out and then rent in Belize first before buying. We intend to do that. Just hoping to exhaust one trip soon to reduce the number of potential areas we may buy a condo in. Corozal, Hopkins, Placencia, Dangria, AC and Caye Caulker, etc is what the possible areas are now. We have (desire) to live on beach with beach view through living room and have 2 bedrooms. That is what we wish to own. Barrier Reef villa lacks the ocean view but lets you fock a boat on the lagoon behind the stand alone unit.
