I am a single mature female from Canada thinking of moving to Belize, how much money a single person needs in order to be able to move, and live in Belize?

and where you want to live and do you want an aircon home with the kind of fittings and fixtures you find in Canada. Huge difference depending on your requirements, but around $2000/ month would give you a good choice

Can anyone help me?
I'm wondering, how would it work for our family to move to Belize but travel to Canada 2x a year? So come and live in Belize for 6 months and then come home to Canada to visit family for about a month, and then come back to Belize. My husband will be working in Belize but we are trying to see how this would all work. Would we just apply for a tourist visa? And continue to do that? The job is about a 5 year project. Would it be smarter to apply for permanent residency? Or just apply for a Belize tourist visa?
Can you apply for those visas here in Canada or do you need to be in Belize to do that? Is it hard to obtain a visa to live there for long periods of time?
Sorry for all my questions just would love to connect with someone who has done this before and could help us. Thank you for your time.

I see no problem it is fairly common with the snowbirds, there are
really no restrictions from Belice for doing this, just pats your fees
and stay as a tourist. No prior application needed.

You dont apply for a tourist visa from outside Belize. You automatically get a 30 day Belize tourist visa in your passport when you go through immigration as soon s you arrive if staying more than i month after the 29 th day i.e. day 30 as dated in your passport you go to your nearest immigration office and have your passports stamped for a further 30 days. Repeat every 30 days. (all family members need to do this) To try to get residency you would not be able to do your month trip back to Canada in the first year as only 14 days in total out of country allowed in first year to Qualify to apply for residency. It will be simpler as waljoa says just pay your monthly tourist stamp. One silver lining after 6 months the stamp fee double
s from $50 bze tp $100 Bze so if you go back to Canada for a month 6 months in when you get back you will get first month free and back to only $50 bze per month for next 6 months.

Just renew your passport every 30 days and stay as long as you like. Residency requires you to STAY for a year (with only leaving for 14 days during that time) AND then while your application is in (after that year), it is sometimes "dicey" as to whether you can leave as well. $50BZ per 30 day visa extension and enjoy yourself - easy, easy

i am a single male 65 been living in Belize for 28 years, the last 5 years in Hopkins village, if you own your own home eating healthy, cable internet, electric, water it costs around $500bz a month, if you have a vehicle ad $200. bz a month , and $50.bz a month to immigration for 3 months then $100.bz a month after that for 9 months then apply for residency and pay $900bz for the application, non refundable.,this only applies if you own your home ,to rent a house is added to this from $500bz to $1200.u.s.d a month, my house may be for rent in may , check www.davescasablanca.com.

to work in Belize if you are a non resident you have to get a work permit $$$ and also pay $50bz a month per person for three months , then $100bz after that .. that is the best keep it simple , other wise this country will suck the blood out of you i been here 28 years , experence is talking,i will have a hose for rent in may , check www.davescasablanca.com or youtube same name.

just a few corrections first month free 2-6 months 50 BZE 7 months on 100.BZE after 1 year if you have not left for more than 14 days in the year (there are some exceptions and this is open to interpretation by the officer who takes your papers), you can apply for residency , N/C until approval, then depends on country you came from for cost. Canada and I believe USA are 2000.00 BZE others are higher and some are lower.
