I understand that cat food (dry, wet) and litter is available, but I am wondering where one might purchase these items if locating to Cayo district. Also any ideas of prices would be helpful! I am considering getting a book on homemade cat food, depending on the pros and cons of belizean cat food. Any advice/experience is greatly appreciated!

wow. I grew up on a farm. I will never be able to understand the disconnect. (buy some cat food, add some milk, your cat will live to 20)… let it be outdoors it will eat some birds and mice. I have always felt an indoor cat is cruelty to animals, (although an outdoor cat can be cruelty to nature).

Hi
Yes I was wondering the same, I am also bringing over a indoor cat. As it been cruel to have them indoors I totally disagree, as in my case my cat is a pedigree ragdoll, you never let them roam, they are bred as indoor cats because of their nature and personalities never mind the costs involved of purchasing a pedigree. Cats that roam inevitably die, we have a catio at home which gives them the freedom of been out doors but in a secured manner, I intend to build her a catio that side to.

most bigger grocery stores in Cayo will stock cat food etc. For more specialized requirements there is a great Pet store in Belmopan on Forrest drive. Also they have just opened a Boarding Kennels there too.

I live in the country in Iowa, and don't let my cats outdoors because there are so many predators (hawks, eagles, owls, coyotes, bobcats) that would be happy to eat them. I don't think they'd be safer outdoors in a tropical rain forest!
