Hi,
My name is Chuck and I am moving to Corozal to retire by the end of March.
A couple of weeks ago, I visited the area and loved the local people and environment. I also met a few expats and they seemed very happy with the area.
I am single and will be driving through Mexico to get there. I have directions from John Peal on my trip through Mexico.
Since I will arrive in Corozal by myself I would like to know where I can meet expats to make new friends. Are there any local hangouts or other places I should be aware of?
I am excited about this change in my life and look forward to making new friends.
Chuck

Congrats! We bought a house in Corazal that is closing April 1st. I have a few years to retirement, so will only get to come down for a month or so a year. I noticed that at art in the park held once a month there were lots of expats. I saw that corozal has a sailing club. I will be interested to hear the responses. There are lots of expats there. So I'm sure you can start a club of your own in whatever interests you. Todd

Jam Rock and Scotties are two places frequented by expats. Once Francesca's at Cerros Sands has the Grand Re-Opening after an extensive addition there as well. Copper Bank Inn on Saturdays for Darts and The Tradewinds at Orchid Bay.

There are several ways to meet expats in Corozal one is by the meet and mingle at a local hangout called Jam Rock also if you are a Rotarian they meet on Wednesdays at a hotel Hokol Kin and the rest of the time a casual visit to the farmers market on a Monday or Friday morning or a evening drink by Scottys

Blue Iguana is on the right hand side after the first speed bump after leaving Corozal town if you head north to Consejo.
