Was looking at spending time in Corozal to see if Belize is somewhere I would like to spend time in when I retire but when I try and put in flights leaving from Canada I can't find an airport to fly into, anyone know the best route to take. Thank you

You can either fly Toronto to Belize city direct or a flight to Cancun to either Renta vehicle and drive down or take an ado bus down. Depends on what you want. Their are other flight options but mostly either Cancun or Belize city destinations

Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City is the major airport for the country. Most major airlines that serve Central America have flights into BZE.

If you fly to Belize City you can walk to the main highway and take the bus up to Corozal for like 5 bucks. The bus has a sign Corozal or Chetumal on it.
It is easier and maybe cheaper to fly to Chetumal in Mexico and than cross the borarder to Belize by bus aswell.

…last time we used VIP cab service. Very professional (except for the dispatcher who had no telephone sense). If I recall we were charged $100USD

The bus is an essential part of life in Belize, is a good experience and you should use it.It is totally safe and clean. As you walk out of the airport, turn left, cross your arms into an X in front of you and say crossroads. They will get you a short run taxi - $5BZ that will take you to the highway. Just past Sky City supermarket is a bus stop. When you see a bus coming from the left that has a sign in the front window that says Corozal, Border, Chetumal or Orange Walk (in order of preference) swing your arm and the bus will stop. The conductor will help put your big bag in the back door or side depending on the bus. Board the bus and find a seat. The conductor will come around in a bit and collect about $10BZ. Sit back, enjoy the ride and the people around you.
