Hi..Yes, it is possible to get a cheap little flip phone through Verizon. You can put minutes on the phone and call and text anywhere. They have these promotional days called double up and triple up days. Look out for those so you can get minutes for two to one or three to one. You can purchase your minutes at any little Chinese food mart . You pay them and they will text you your minute credits..Once my verizon smart phone got charged with roaming charges down there, the bill was 1 K US!!.....I think the flip phone is about 50.00 Belize....

The minutes are a dollar Belize or fifty cents US I believe...I never had trouble calling back to the US from there on my cheap flip phone....
