Hi Firstly nearly all jobs are reserved for locals, you would need a work permit to work anf its unlikely you would get one, pay is also miserably low, you could of course start a company, but you have to employ locals and can only manage not work in the company. Good luck

if you put 'working in Belize' in the search window on this site you will see why that won't happen unless you start a business. You can't work and you can't basically work in a business you own. Work is left for Belizeans. You would not like the pay anyway. Retirement countries pretty much require you to bring money there not make any there. Few exceptions to very specialized fields.

I think unless you start a business, finding work in Belize will be next to impossible. The few jobs they do have are given to Belizeans. It is not like the US where there are lots of different venues, manufacturing....The expats I know all have their own businesses. Two own construction companies and a couple own real estate companies. I know a chiropractor who is not a native. A couple own bed and breakfasts, a resort or two, and one guy runs a coffee house. To land a job say as a teacher is not an option. It is not that simple to just go there and get employed...I don't mean to sound like a wet blanket, but I am just telling you the truth.

Yep that just about sums it up.
If by some miracle a job was available to you, The local hourly rate is negligible. A considered "very good" job pays maybe 15 to 20 bze $ per hour which equates to 7,50 to 10 $ US. those would be government type jobs ( senior hospital nurse, or senior clerk in a Bank/government office) such jobs would never be available to anyone not a citizen.
