I have read that there are no beaches in Corozal, does this mean that no where in Corozal is a sandy beach?

We've stayed at The Almond Tree resort. There is a small sandy beach there. The bay has nice soft sand but there definitely are not miles and miles of beaches. 10-100 foot beach is the biggest we saw. That being said you definitely can get in the water and it's much warmer than our nearest ocean at Long Island Sound.

You might also look into the Consejo Shores area. We've been researching properties in that community/area and it looks like there are "seaside parks" that have some sort of beach area. It looks like Consejo/Consejo Shores is only about 10 minutes north of the town of Corozal.
Hope this is a help.

There are at Cerros Sands and Orchid Bay. You can see pictures of the beaches at Cerros Sands at www.cerrossands.com.
