I'm planning on moving in the near future to Belize or Costa Rica. Probably Belize is my first choice. I'm somewhat flexible. Before moving, I need to have some extremely important information.
I was in a horrific, tragic accident in 2010 and I have irrreparible damage to my lower spine. After two major surgeries, nothing more can be done for me medically, except for the severe pain.
I've been on Oxycodone and Oxycontin with tremendous success. I don't have tolerance changes, side effects, nor any of the other negative things that a lot of other people have. With the medication, I can function, get around, and have quality of life.
I'm willing to do some travel monthly if necessary. I also have all the medical documentation. What I despritely need is information on where and how to go about getting it. I'm not aware of any type of official source of information, so I'm reaching out to people. To anyone who can lead me in the right direction. I'm seeking to do this legally.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to say the Pharmacies in Belize do not dispense those Narcotics you need. As this was also a big thread a couple of years ago and the upshot was no availablity in Belize even with a US prescription. Nothing has changed. They do not have an Opiode problem and this way the wish to ensure they keep it that way. If not available problem cant take hold..

It is a controlled medication and as such goes through scrutiny and by the time you get it it costs even more of what you will pay in the USA. I did research on it about a year ago since a guest required such and did find it but too expensive. The GOB has taken a stiff stand against these medications since it was being abused by cruisers.

This was my experience in Corozal. I broke my arm, the hospital set it, but they would not give me pain meds, they didn't have any. I walked into a pharmacy and asked for codeine. They gave me a bag of it no prescription was necessary. Once I had a bad fall, I went to an internist and he gave me a bag of codeine as well. There were 60-40- 20- and tens. There was no Tylenol mixed with them. The whole deal is not like it is in the US... I don't know how you would set up a pain management type scenario.....

I also believe it maybe illegal to bring those type of drugs into the country, especially if you have a large number.
